當走過上環的街道，除了電車的「叮叮」聲音喚起回憶的音符外，無一不被位於德輔道中的西港城所吸引。這座坐落於舊區的紅磚屋，見證上環過百年的成長，充滿回憶痕跡。愛德華式古典建築風格，紅磚外牆，拱頂的大門，殖民色彩濃厚，在四周的高樓群中更顯獨特。

The song of the tram, “Ding Ding”, brings me into the music of memory when I walk in the Sheung Wan. Besides, the Western Market which located at Des Voeux Road Central  had caught my eyes.

The red brick building is the witness of the development of this old district for over a century. Western Market becomes the unique snapshot and represents the art of colonizing because of its Edwardian-style building, red brick exterior and handsome granite arch over its entrance.

西港城大樓原為船政署舊址，後來改作上環街市，百多年來一直是附近居民常到的市集。西港城在1991年修建過後，成為目前的模樣，是個傳統行業及手工藝的中心，也是一個商場。

在這座古雅的商場內，有各種售賣特色工藝品及懷舊收藏品的商店，還有來自中環老街巷弄的布匹店，讓您感受老香港的情懷。

Western Market, renovated in 1991 and converted into a shopping complex, the featuring shops selling arts and crafts, and fabric merchants who were originally located in the old alleys of Central. The building is actually a north block extension of a larger market complex that was in operation from the 19th century. It was built on a site formerly occupied by the Harbour Office, which moved to a larger building in Central to cope with its growing workload.[1]
